A man became glued to the seat of a public toilet in Cairns in an embarrassing prank.                                                                                                    

The 57-year-old man found he had become stuck to the seat after using a cubicle in a male bathroom at the Cairns shopping centre on Saturday.

Ambulance workers and police were called to free the man, who was taken to Cairns Base Hospital with the toilet seat still attached.

He sustained minor injuries.

“It appears at this stage that an unknown offender has placed an adhesive on the toilet seat,” a police spokeswoman said.

Police are investigating.

FIVE people have walked away from a light plane crash with minor injuries in Western Australia’s northwest, police say.

Sergeant Greg Lambert said the plane made an emergency landing about 8.30am (WST) on Thursday, about 20km north of Broome.

“It parked where it shouldn’t have been parking,” Sgt Lambert said. Five people on board the plane walked away with minor injuries but the plane was a wreck, Sgt Lambert said.

A young Perth cricketer bashed with a brick outside a nightclub in Leeds in England might not be able to fly home for several months because severe head injuries that have left him unable to talk.

A man hit him in the face with a brick and he fell backwards and struck his head heavily on the footpath. His attacker left in taxi.
  
Thomson, who made his A-grade debut for WACA club Mt Lawley at the end of the summer, was playing for Clayton West in West Yorkshire.
  
Thomson’s mother Jeannette went to England on Wednesday and was greeted with the news that her son was out of intensive care.
