WITH a new manager running a very tight ship, and a new chef in the kitchen armed with a new menu, Oceanus on the Beach in City Beach has undergone something of a renaissance in recent months.

Since moving to Perth from his native Scotland, chef John Martin has run kitchens at the likes of the old Campo De’fiori in Applecross and the Royal Perth Golf Club as well as his own Wembley restaurant, ultimately selling the business to spend more time with his growing family.

Martin said the first thing he did was change the Oceanus’ menu to something more in tune with the beachside restaurant’s oceanic surrounds.

“The last chef went sort of 90 per cent meat on the menu, and I thought, we’re surrounded by water here, so I went back to about 80 per cent seafood, 20 per cent meat,” he said.

“There’s nothing on the menu that I’m not proud of.” Martin – who was originally trained in French cooking – said simplicity was an important part of his culinary ethos.

“I go for the good taste and the flavour and I tell the staff in the kitchen to keep it simple ,” he said.

“You get a lot of chefs that put too many flavours in; complex flavours, and you end up with this mish-mash on your plate.

” Another recent addition to Oceanus is manager Paul Fox, brought in by owner Tom Galopoulos. Fox said he arrived at the restaurant shortly after Martin.

“All I’ve done is just streamline the staff to make sure the service is at a level where it should be, that all the staff are fully professional and really compatible with the industry,” he said.

“I’m teaching my staff the three things I find lacking most in the industry – complex flavours, and you end up with this mish-mash on your plate and, to let people know that the menus are suggestions.

“If you like the sound of the fish of the day, but you don’t want the mashed potatoes with it, we will ask what would you like with it?

“Products in the fridge are there to be used and the chef is there to cook the food that you want to eat.”

Oceanus is also introducing some dinner shows later in the year, with pub-rock legends Mental as Anything dropping in as part of their 30th anniversary tour, as well as a show by Richard Clapton.

WILD weather has caused havoc across Perth, uprooting trees, tearing off roofs and plunging homes into darkness.

Winds travelling at more than 100km/h tore through the city overnight, ripping the roof off a granny flat in Doubleview, collapsing a ceiling in Joondalup and blowing in the windows of a house in City Beach.

More than 17,000 are believed to be without power because of the storm, mostly in the Perth hills.

State and Emergency Services (SES) have recorded 70 calls for help since 7am, with a total of 125 incidents logged since 6pm last night and 240 properties impacted.

Damage has been reported in coastal suburbs from Two Rocks to Rockingham and all SES units in the metropolitan area have been activated with volunteers in Northamweather called in for backup.

A series of cold fronts have been lashing the city since Friday, with Rottnest, Ocean Reef, Mandurah and Bickley some of the worst hit areas.

Ocean Reef recorded a wind gust of 107km/h and gusts of 115km/h were recorded at Rottnest, where ferry services have been cancelled.

The ports of Fremantle and Kwinana ports have suspended operations until midday.

Across the state, Cape Naturalist and Cape Leeuwin recorded wind gusts of up to 109km/h.  There have been reports of fallen trees and minor damage to homes in Bunbury, Busselton and Capel.

The WA Bureau of Meteorology says it is the wettest day of the year.

Flights from Perth’s international terminal are running half an hour behind schedule, and Main Roads are urging motorists to slow down and take care in the inclement weather.

Near the city, waves from the Swan River were lapping around peak hour traffic on the Kwinana Freeway this morning, while Riverside Drive and parts of Beaufort St have isolated flooding.

Traffic lights are out on the intersection of Great Eastern Highway and Stoneville Rd in Mundaring and at the junction of Kalamunda Rd and Gooseberry Hill Rd.

WA Bureau of Meteorology climate information officer John Relf says 23.2mm of rain has fallen overnight taking Perth much closer to the 177mm average with 147.8mm of rain recorded this month.

“We have exceeded last year’s June rainfall of 142mm,” he said.

Heavy rain has been reported from Collie to Walpole.

WA Water Corporation spokeswoman Clare Lugar says dams should have now started benefiting from the all rainfall.

“Up until Friday the streams hadn’t started to flow,” Ms Lugar said.  “But we are expecting it to have begun flowing over the weekend.”

The wild weather is expected to ease up later tonight with fine weather forecast by Thursday.

HOGSBREATH – NORTHBRIDGE

The steak was very tender and very tasty, we went on a extremely busy night but still the waitress was very attentive. The chicken ranch salad was delicious also.

Overall a great dining experience, we have always enjoyed coming to Hogsbreath as we know we’ll get great service and great food.

JOONDALUP BBQ RESTAURANT

If you like Chinese BBQ this is the place to go. Check the bill as accidental additions have appeared when the items were not delivered to the table.

Otherwise no complaints, these guys have an efficient turnover and always try to fit you in if possible.

Food is good BBQ Chinese.

PUNJAB INDIAN RESTAURANT INNALOO

WOW! – Now this is an authentic Indian restaurant that DOES NOT temper/moderate/play around with the ingredients to “tone down” the authentic heat in their dishes. Thank goodness there is one place in Western Australia that will cook real AUTHENTIC Indian dishes. We had food like this 30 years ago in UK and later in Kuala Lumpur (Little India).
The Vindaloo is excellent and has the correct amount of spice (owners please do not adjust this down!).
Madras dishes are as authentic as you will get in WA (possibly Australia). If you are a true fan of authentic Indian food then this restaurant will meet all your expectations.
The rice dishes are fabulous and well worth trying. The Chicken Tandoori in this restaurant is absolutely heaven.

THE VIEW FREMANTLE

We had the Wild Card Curry awsome flavour, Seafood platter great value and some great value cocktails
For such a large restaurant the service was good.
We felt like we were on vacation not in the the middle of Freo. The place was pumping everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

ECCO   SUBIACO

Had a pizza and wood fired crispy octopus to share with my mate, the octopus turn out to be something really sensational, crispy on the outside and as soft as melt in the mouth on the inside, the level of flavour go through my palate as if I’m on a roller coaster, I’m supposed they braised and marinate their octopus before finish with cooking in the wood fired oven. Pizza was great too, nice thin n crispy base, have some texture to it but not too chewy.
Service was friendly, attentive but not interrupting
A very small little cafe, tables can be quite small and near to each other, but doesn’t really matter as food is goodFood:

THE SAMOVA   BUSSLETON

The food was excellent. Exactly as described on the nicely varied menu except my husband had paella which was actually quite spicy, this should have been explained so as not to shock a non-chilli lover. I had grilled whiting on mash and spinach, with aoli on the side (a nice touch, not poured over to drown the dish). My toddler son had home-made leg ham & cheese pizza and chips, leftovers were taken care of by Dad, so we were all happy! My son had ice cream for desert which they brought as requested, plain, without yucky additive coverings…..and we shared a yummy chocolate pudding, deliciously presented!
Great service. I had booked only an hour earlier, but our table was ready with high chair, plastic cup and straw for my son. We ordered his meal with our drinks, and they understood we needed to feed the toddler, and they were very understanding. Offering a small plate, small spoon etc.
I do feel the place is a little bright, but then so many windows make it so. Everything else is good though so I overlook the light!:
I do like it, this is our third visit and each time it hits the mark.

MAMBO ITALIANO CITY BEACH

The food at Mambo Italiano is divine and definitely value for your money. No tiny servings here. The service is fantastic, with a welcoming atmosphere.

This is a great restaurant. I highly recommend the Lamb Shanks 🙂

LAGO DI COMO COMO

Excellent pizzas, large portions.
Their service really sets them apart. They really look after you here without being overbearing. Always friendly and do their best to make your experience a lovely one.
It’s cosy and quite loud, but I love their photographs and paintings on the walls.
My family and I have been here at least 15 times and not once have we been disappointed. Consistently wonderful food, great service and reasonably priced. One of our favourite restaurants in Perth.

ALBION HOTEL COTTLESOE

I had fresh vegetable tart was very tasty . My partner had a salmon rocket pasta which must have been excellent because he didn’t even ask for a bite of my tart. The dessert menu was small but irresistible- we had choc fondant ice cream ,fresh fruits plate. The salad bar was good .
Don’t expect table service- you order and pay at the counter and they’ll bring it over to your table. You have to get up to order drinks from the bar.
Nice peanuts I love the beer garden at the back, my experience here was great. Would definitely do a re-visit and would feel comfortable with a big group

IL LIDO COTTLESOE

I have been eating at Il Lido since it opened and have never been disappointed. From the shared taste plate, oysters, starters, mains and desserts, congratulations Il Lido on never letting me down fantastic.
There are a couple of guys there that are absolute terrific, along with a great female as well. I love seeing the same faces come to my table, they are polite, well mannered, interesting and what’s more they know there stuff!
Great! I love the long tables, the fixtures, the fit out, I love it all. It’s not where you might go for a romantic dinner for two, and my guess is that it was never intended for that. It’s fun, funky and now!

C BLU COTTLESOE

With their new menu and management C Blu restaurant has become my number one choice for restaurants on the water. Having accepted the managers recommendation of the Seafood platter, we were more than impressed upon its arrival. Wow! lobster, scampi, oysters, grilled and fried fish, scollops, morton bay bug…. all for $80, enough for two? more like three!
The service was nothing short of fantastic. Having just completed in-house wine training and a tasting our waiter ‘Olivia’ was more than confident to recommend the Geisen “The brothers” as an excellent accompaniment to our platter.
Very modern with a water/ ocean theme. And Views of the Indian

OSCARS CURRAMBINE

The food is amazing with a lot of choice. The base for the sauces might be similar, but the taste completely different. My favourite dishes are the Carson Steak, Chicken Spumate and Scallopini Marsala.
The service is great and the restaurant can be crazy on Friday and Saturday nights so make you book in advance.
Where has this Restaurant been all my life….I have been to Oscars may times and the experience has always been fab!
We really enjoy going to Oscars and would recommend giving it a go when you have the chance. Make a night of it and see a movie too, as its just next door to Oscars.

MARIOS PIZZA DIANELLA

Absolutely beautiful!! Authentic Italian style pizza with just the right amount of topping! & the dough has a special ingredient to give it that wood fired taste and texture, although it is gas oven cooked! Simply Brilliant!
Mario himself serves you sometimes! & his Mother speaks with a real authentic Italian accent! Just like ordering a pizza straight from Italy!
The Shop is surrounded by Italian memorabilia! Flags, flashing signs, colour! They have arcade games for child amusement and magazines for people to read while they wait. Friendly atmosphere.
Go there if you want the best quality and service with your slice of pizza!

GRATZI DIANELLA

My dining experience was really good. The service by the staff was excellent and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. It was worth the price. The restaurant felt warm and cosy.
Overall I realy enjoyed it.

BRADLEYS EAST PERTH

We went here by fluke and it has now become a favourite. The 1st time we hadn’t booked but they were fabulous and welcoming and what lovely food and lovely location! We sat next to the water and boats, beautiful, there aren’t that many outside restaurants in Perth. The staff and management are really attentive and sweet. Oh, I reckon this place is lovely. They look after customers. The food was fabulous. I am a vegetarian and hadn’t booked the first time but was totally happy (goats cheese salad – yummy). The second time I booked and said I was veggie and they made me the most delicious tart. I could see the meat meals were fabulous. My sister had Lamb shoulder and was raving – huge portion and was saying it was great.
The staff are lovely. I can’t fault Bradleys. Best location in Perth, yet the owner and staff are so unpretentious and lovely. They seem to be genuinely interested in how we found the food and the experience. The staff are really engaged. They have grabbed this customer
Have only been there at lunch but for that Bradleys has one of the best locations in Perth. Outside, next to the river. Who could fault it? Lovely. Sitting outside is so nice but the staff are very aware of comfort and shading and whether you have had a good experience.

HAVANAS EAST PERTH

A great selection of tasting plates from various parts of the world. From memory, Indian, American, Mediterranean and more. We had the Indian which was a delicious tender beef curry served in mini pappadams, tandoori chicken skewers and samosas. Just fantastic.
I had the chefs special steak with prawns with a light cream and garlic sauce with crispy hand cut chips this was a highlight, and it was also a large serve especially after the tasting plate.
Service was great, we ordered the cocktail special, Pimms, which had sold out unfortunately, so the waiter offered us a cocktail of our choice at the same discounted price. Superb!
Great little spot in East Perth, down by the duck ponds just near the claisebrook cove. The ponds have fountains which create a nice sound and cancel out most other noise. Inside is also very nicely decorated and comfortable. I look forward to sitting in there in winter.
A new restaurant in East Perth doing some excellent work. We will definitely be regulars.

PRINCESS OF INDIA HILLARYS

Food is cooked to perfection with unlimited choices to suit both vegetarians, and none vegetarians. Customers have a choice of mild, medium or hot for the majority of dishes, to suit their personal taste. After finishing a wonderful meal, we were offered deserts which looked too good to refuse.
Staff were friendly, enthusiastic and happy to meet our every need, and had no problem calling a taxi when we were ready to leave. Staff were keen to explain the restaurant’s reasonably priced offers and lunch specials.

PORTOFINOS  HILLARYS HARBOUR

A group of 4 of us went to Portofinos on a Thursday evening – we didnt have a booking but stil got offered a table inside or outside which we chose outside (they had lovely heaters outside).
We started off by ordering woodfired garlic bread and some fries with a bottle of wine. The entrees didnt take long to come out at all and the garlic bread was delicious!!
For mains we order two different woodfired pizzas to share between 3 of us & my other friend ordered fish of the day. The pizzas were delicious full of flavour! My other friend enjoyed the salmon which was on top of lovely creamy pasta. We also had deserts which are HUGE!! 2 of us had mud cake with icecream & 2 of us had lemon merrange pie -both beautiful although couldnt finish!
The staff were great – they didnt hover around our table and pounce all the time like some places – we were served at the appropriate times and staff were happy and helpful.
Great atmosphere especially outside where you can see the nightlife and the ocean. The jetty looked beautiful also. Its also not too loud so you can actually hear others speaking to you.
Overall a great experience and will be visiting again to take my partner along! Prices on the mains list can be quite high but the food makes it worth it! A lovely evening out with the girls!

KULCHA CAFE AND NOODLES HOUSE JOONDALUP

Absolutely the best. Can’t go past my favourite the Mee Goreng. Also enjoy the soups and other mains. Food plentiful like it should be at all restaurants and always fresh and tasty.
Very busy at dinner times and is better for lunch. But the staff is good and helpful given how busy they are all the time.
Not flashy, but comfortable. A good family feel to it and it is food we are after not fancy surroundings
Hard to go past. In fact miss out on other restaurants because they do not match up to Kulcha. The best in the north for sure.

CHILIS ASIAN CUISINE JOONDALUP

Always good. I have tested various dishes and they all taste good. I couldn’t find any flaw. My favorite is the crispy and spicy squid. Blanket prawns are good too. Love the sweet and sour dishes. Seafood fried rice is my husband’s favorite!
Owners are friendly and warm. I always feel at home here.
Lovely. I like the bottles they use for water. Clean cutlery. Like I mentioned, I always feel at home here.

LITTLE ITALY KALLAROO

Wow What a meal. My family and I were blown away by the entrees and mains. One daughter had the Lasagna, my wife had the Spaghetti Marinara and my other daughter and I had the Monet E Mare which was mouth watering. I had a taste of all the dishes and they were all great. The Brushcetta, as entree, was spot on – it left us and wanting more. We left feeling that we had enjoyed a great meal.
The service was out standing within 10 mins of sitting down we all had a drink and the time between entrees and mains was excellent. The staff was very friendly and always there when you glass was in need of filling.
The decor was very plain and dated but you don’t eat decor and the food took your mind off what the decor lacked

GNARABAR MARGARET RIVER

The food was amazing, had one of the most unbelievable steaks. we even went back for breaky the next day. quite expensive, but you get what you pay for. really good quality meals, the chef is a genius.
Good atmosphere, cozy lounge chairs, modern design, quite impressive.
When you drive past walcliffe you can see the back wall of the restaurant. doesn’t look that impressive, from the moment you park in the car park, and walk in it is really lush. food was amazing. i wish they had a restaurant in Perth. pancakes were prob the best in WA. the only other good pancakes i have had that compete was in estonia, and i have been to a lot of crepe and pancakes shops.

XANADU  MARGARET RIVER

The Chef/s here know how to do their thing up with the best of them. The presentation and the sourcing of the freshest ingredients is absolutely top quality. I have never tasted food of this quality and value for money. We found this place by chance when visiting the hawk bird sanctuary and went back 4 times in the last week of our holiday. The pork belly and scallop entree is tried in many restaurants throughout the Swan Valley who should all attend Xanadu to learn how to do it properly. This was just one of the menu selection we tried, all of them with the same result, PERFECT.
Along with the food I couldnt find any faults whatsoever, no matter how small. It was as if the managers’ had sourced the best staff from all over the state, or they just have very high standards. Unobtrusive, yet knowing when to fill up your glass or remove your plates etc they know their stuff!!
With 3 children, the youngest 18 months, I am mindful of the noise level of my children. But when you have a playground visible from the restaurant, colouring in crayons etc and staff who have friendly smiles, its hard not to relax when your kids are enjoying eating out too.
Ten out of Ten. As weekly diners in the Swan Valley we have not come across any restaurant that gets within a bulls roar of Xanadu. Quality all round from the food, presentation, ambience, service and most of all value for money. The most expensive dish we had was marron for $43 which when comparing other $40 meals we have had recently, was seriously UNDERPRICED

THE BOAT MINDARIE

I have had the good fortune of being taken to this restaurant twice for lunch and dinner this week.
Both times I must say that I really enjoyed my time there, for dinner I had the Greek salad that was a huge serve full of fresh cucumber, tomato and feta cheese.
My friend enjoyed the famous fish and chips and a serve of the garlic bread.
Sorry to say but on my return visit i had the Greek salad again for lunch! Prices are reasonable and the views over the water are stunning.
Orders are placed at the counter and a buzzer is given to call you when your meal is ready, we waited no longer then 15mins for ours.
Staff were friendly and approachable.
Will definitely be going back soon.

THE INDIAN OCEAN BREWING COMPANY  MINDARIE

The food was surperb slightly pricer than normal but tasted fresh the first time i went he it was packed and the food still come out looking good which doesnt happen when a place it busy had the soft shell crab for entress which was crispy and not so oily for main i had the steak cooked just right my dad had the lobster ravoli serving was bit small but tasted great
was outstanding upon arrival the waitress was smiling and informed us of 45min wait due to how the busy they were tok our names down came back 40 mins later and were prompley seated drinks n meal order taken soon after
was good but this probably due the festival they had on
normally i dont rate restraunts this high but is palce is very good and is highly recomoned

MULLALOO BEACH HOTEL

4 of us went on a Saturday night. We found the food to be pretty good I had the Barru on a potato crush and was surprising impressed. very good, my three companions were also happy with their food. Modern Australian but with good sized serves without being to big.
Reasonable could have been better. We were given due attention and the staff were friendly but the waitress blew it by passing a plate across the table in front of one of us rather than walk around the table and serve from the side.
This is its weakness. Too noisy and with plastic chairs that I sweated while being to hard. The noise was the worst for me though I have to admit it did not seem to bother other people and I accept some people like the vibe a loud bright place offers.
If you like a vibrant funky young crowd with good food I suspect you will like it.

KOH – I – NOOR PADBURY

I never thought I was an Indian food type of girl. But after visiting this restaurant, OMG I LOVE IT! The food was so flavoursome and soo tender, just delicious! We went on buffet night. Just so so great, I totally recommend it.
We never had to pour our water once. very attentive but not invasive.
They could really work on the interior.

SEIZAN JAPANESE PERTH

Delicious, I had Seizan Bento which includes Sashimi, Terriyaki chicken, simmered beef, and Tempura and my friends had Grilled Salmon and Fried Seadfood. Everything we had was perfectly good. Especially Sashimi was great..!! I and my friends really enjoyed the food. It was worth of money and good valude for and upmarket inner city restaurant. When we had dinner, other people were having Teppan yaki on the table, and the chef did kind of performance attracting people’s interest. Next time, I’d like to try Teppan yaki~:-)
The waitress were wearing Kimono which is Janpanese traditional clothes. It looked nice and most staff were very kind. I visited there on Tuesday, not so busy and the food was not slow than I thought. The service was pertty good..!!
Good, Clean and Nice. There were quite big room for group people.
Fantastic food, Good service, and Nice place. The restaurant is located in downstairs so, at first time it was hard to find it. Except this, everything was perfect. I think I and my friends will be fans of Seizan!!

THE BURGER BISTRO PERTH

Very nice burgers, I’ve had the emmental a few times. They are about $15 each (sides extra), hard to say if the price is justified but the place is usually packed at lunch and I’ll probably go back.
Always quick and friendly
Bustling at lunch times
Cool, looks like deluxe burger joints are coming to Perth

NO 44 KING ST PERTH

The food was good, if not a little overpriced. But when you are eating on King St, across from Louis Vuitton and Tiffany’s, it is unrealistic to expect cheap food, so it is easier to just roll with the trend.
Had the taste plate to start- which we were told changes daily. It was amazing, little bites of heaven from start to finish. For mains we opted for traditional, I had a Chicken Ceasar and my partner had the goats cheese pizza. The Ceasar was great- just the right amount of everything and large enough to more than fill me up. I tasted the goats cheese pizza which was great- light fluffy base and just enough delicious goats cheese. The cake fridge is to die for and the Orange and Almond cake we shared was perfect, moist and delicious.
No frills service just how I like it. Waitresses were efficient and friendly and seemed to know what was happening. Tasting plate was as described and wine recommended was great. Waitresses (and 1 waiter) were friendly and I saw some of them joking and making conversation with other customers.
For those who haven’t been- this place is worth a visit just for the room alone. It is big and airy, with an old rustic charm. It is lovely to sit and look out European style windows in the mid afternoon with the sun coming in.
Good food, good service and great view. We will definitely be back

LA DOLCE VITA SOUTH FREMANTLE

After driving by many times we decided to dine at La Dolce Vita and we were not disappointment. A very relaxed and friendly place and welcoming to our whole family. Our kids enjoyed colouring in and ate most of their meals. It has become our family restaurant and we love it.
Casual, clean and relaxing.

PINES GRAND BUFFET & CARVERY  SCARBOROUGH

I could NOT fault the food at all!!! I have read other reviews saying the food was bad.. but its not…. I have never had food tasting so nice…. I have visited three times in the last six months and never had any problems with the food… the food is so nice I don’t want to leave… and always look forward to the next visit.
The service is A1.. always seated within 2 min. drinks served within the first 5 to ten min.. and plates cleared regularly.. the staff are very friendly… cant fault
I would recommend this restaurant any day.. I have been there 3 times in the last 6 months. and now look for excuses to go back ie birthdays lol. the food is to died for.. the service is grate.. the views are good, sunset is really good to see!!!

CIAO ITALIA SOUTH PERTH

This has to be THE most delicious Italian food I have tasted in Perth. The pasta is so fresh, and the sauces are rich and full bodies. Even the bruschetta is some of the nicest I have had… And if you manage to have room for dessert that is pretty brilliant too. The pizza is delicious and they are really massive, but sharing is cheap… eat it all!! 😀
The staff here are so amazingly friendly and happy, you feel well looked after from start to finish. The food comes out quickly and it’s amazing how on top of things the staff manage to stay considering how busy.
Some people might not enjoy the tightly packed restaurant, but I honestly find it appealing!! Sure you have to squeeze in, but the atmosphere is brilliant and you can still hear people and you have enough room to chat and be comfortable.
After living in the area for over 10 years, I finally tried this little SoR gem… Who cares if you are crammed in when the food is THIS good?

BROOKLANDS TAVERN SOUTHERN RIVER

After noticing the sign advertising new chef and new menu the hubby and I decided to give it another go, after being disappointed in it in the January well we absolutely loved what we had. The garlic bread was hot and tasted of garlic and the Kimberley Mud Crab was fantastic – we received 1 1/2 mud crabs each which had been poached in a garlic, chilli, tomato, white wine and fresh herb cream reduction, served on savory rice and with steamed vegetables on the side. Neither of us could get to the vegies or the rice we were totally full on the crab and I felt was excellent value at $38 each and with a bottle of wine we had an extremely enjoyable lunch.
The service was prompt and efficient and very helpful with any enquiries. It was a quiet Saturday but there were a few larger groups of 6 or 8 people who all seemed to be having an enjoyable time.
Typically upmarket tavern.
A very enjoyable experience and the hubby and I are looking forward to going back again soon.

LA BRUSCHETTA RISTORANTE PIZZERIA TUART HILL

We went with a group of six and ordered Turkish Bread, Salmon with salad for Starters and Chicken Pizza, Tiger Prawn and Chicken Pasta for mains. We all were very satisfied with the taste, quantity and the quality of the food. Presentation was great.
Excellent, The owner and the head chef himself took time to come and talk to us about the food. Food was served within a reasonable amount of time. The friendly staff with a smile is a must to mention.
Warm, homely, a little can be add to modernize the environment.
Great place, great food, great staff. Will definitely go again.

DIVIDO MT HAWTHORN

Almost everything I have tried has been a delight (the octopus entree was a bit tough for my liking) but if you want a real treat, go for the mushroom and sage rotollo for entree and the duck for main. Heavenly.
They are always very sweet and attentive at Divido. On one occasion the waiters tended to hover a bit, which made me a little uncomfortable, but most of the time they are great.
Beautiful. Comfortable cushioned seats, dimmed lighting, and great stencil art on the walls.
Absolutely amazing every time we go. The most consistently good restaurant in Perth.

LITTLE CLOUD PEPPERMINT GROVE

My wife and I chose the 5 course pre-selected menu. The dishes were excellently prepared and the courses carefully chosen to compliment each other. We brought our own wine – which limited our ability to match wines to various courses. Better to dine in a group to allow a wider range of wines with the separate course Serves were well sized and we left well satisfied. Dish presentation was up there amongst the best my wife and I have experienced.
Friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The server expressed excellent knowledge of the dishes and the mode of preparation – very helpful (essential) in the degustation style of dining.
Bright and sparkling in split levels. Tasteful and subdued wall paintings – understood to be painted by the multi-talented chef! The bright lighting showed the pristine table setting to good effect.
Our first degustation dining experience – but not our last at Little Cloud. A most enjoyable and rewarding dining experience.

CHRISTINAS EAST VICTORIA PARK

HUGE Meals and very nice. We shared our dishes and there was no one left thinking they had not eaten something very nice.
Wonderful attentive and polite
We sat outside it was brilliant and they don’t allow smoking outside which is a HUGE plus for those who want to enjoy the outdoor eating without worrying there will be smoker.
A+++ we will go again and again

OLD COTTAGE CAFE WEST SWAN

All the food was tasty, I really enjoyed my crepe, the sauce wasn’t overbearing or too rich and we had a truly lovely dining experience.
My cousin ordered the lamb shank which was a huge serving. All the servings were decent sized, I couldn’t fit in dessert although I managed to squeeze in a coffee the meal.
For a casual restaurant this place is a true standout if you’re in the area be sure to try it!
